Don Lambrecht – Receives FHAW Annual Award For Outstanding Contribution to an Organization At the 34th Annual conference of the Forest History Association of Wisconsin, held at La Crosse, Wisconsin, Don, a former FHAW Board member and past longtime FHAW representative to the Wisconsin Forestry Hall of Fame, was awarded the Fixmer Award for outstanding contributions to an organization. The Fixmer Award is given to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to an organization, agency, or corporation, within the Forest Products and Resources Community. Don is a graduate of the University of Michigan and also a WWII Naval Veteran, 1943-1946, having served as Executive Officer aboard the LCI 423. Returning from military service duty, Don worked in the paper industry in the Lake States and Canada as a Woodlands Manager. He retired from the American Can Corporation in 1984; he was in charge of over 266,000 acres of woodlands. Don served as Past President of the Forest History Association of Wisconsin, as well as on the board of directors on the Wisconsin Forestry Hall of Fame. His contribution and dedication to the FHAW has been invaluable as a senior statesman and as to other organizations.
